Responsibilities of Student Conduct Board Members

Members of the Student Conduct Board play an integral role in educating students and student organizations about the importance of promoting the UCF Creed. As a member of the Student Conduct Board, there is an individual understanding that the purpose of the Student Conduct Board is to be educative, increasing student awareness of behavioral expectations, and protecting the rights of students by providing a process that is fair.

All members of the Student Conduct Board receive training by staff within SCAI on the Student Conduct and Student Organization Conduct Review Process, where they will develop skills in: facilitating and resolving conflicts, decision-making, information analysis, collaboration, communication among others, and more!

The responsibilities of members of the Student Conduct Board are:

  • Uphold all University policies and the UCF Creed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all student information (FERPA)
  • Become knowledgeable about all aspects of the University’s Rules of Conduct and Organizational Rules of Conduct
  • Members are also encouraged to attend ongoing trainings and professional development activities throughout the academic year provided by staff of the office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity

Time Commitment and Expectations

All members of the Student Conduct Board are expected to participate in 1-2 hearings per month.

Student Conduct and Academic Integrity schedules formal hearings between the hours of 9:00am – 5:00pm. In order to participate in a hearing, student conduct board members will need to be available for one (1) of the hearing blocks between the hours of 9:00am – 12:00pm or 1:00pm – 5:00pm. Each semester, Student Conduct and Academic Integrity will collect updated availability of members.
